A HIGHLY STYLIZED SYRO-HITTITE TERRACOTTA ASTARTE FIGURE

This figure depicts the goddess Astarte and is an excellent example of the “bird-faced” type. The only features present on the face are the beak-like nose and two pellet eyes. The headdress is elaborate and is accentuated by the incised decoration. The figure’s jewelry is depicted by six horizontal pierced lines on the upper chest.

In excellent and original condition.
