AN ABYDOS WARE JUGLET

Early Bronze II; 2900-2650 BCE
This well proportions juglet sits on a flat base and is composed of an ovoid body. The top of the juglet tapers to a short neck with a flared rim. A single handle is attached from rim to shoulder. It is exquisitely decorated with a red burnished slip indicative of the type with a combed design for additional visual interest.
In excellent condition, slight chip to rim and neck.
